For over 35 years I've been a fiber artist, specializing in Victorian wicker furniture restoration, chair caning and all types of chair seat weaving designs. In 1990, I began weaving antler baskets, which quickly became my signature basket. My antler baskets are available through my website as well as at several galleries. I've been teaching antler basketweaving classes and chair caning classes nationwide since 1998 and have authored over 20 patterns. In 2007 we formed a new chair caning guild called, The SeatWeavers' Guild. I've served as President since its inception. Get more information on the Guild by visiting my website and by visiting the Seatweaving, Chair Caning Forum. Happy Weaving! And stay tuned for more. SUBSCRIBE to and RATE my Channel. This was originally intended to be a short video showing a technique used to split bamboo with a knife, but grew into the complete procedure of making a basket, with the addition of some buff willow - I hope it inspires someone to have a go!
