Episode 156; "I'm sorry." She doesn't know why he's apologizing but her greatest fear is because he was just about to walk out. "I'm not.." Regret flashes across his face. "Baby, I don't want to be here right now and be yelling at you. I don't wanna hurt you more than I have." It doesn't ease Demi's emotions and it doesn't help that he'd look anywhere but at her. "I need to cool off a bit." She shakes her head stubbornly, tightening her grip on his hand. "You're leaving me.." "I'm not gonna sit here and torture myself.. or you!" He shakes her off only to find he's made her cry harder. He goes to pull at his hair. "You.. you need your rest. I need to go back and get shit together with my dad." "You know what?! Go!" Demi swings her arm towards the door. "You'd rather be with those people, then go Joe. Then maybe you can go tell Camilla how bad I messed up, then she'll let you fuck her in the restrooms!" Her mind is reeling and she'd say anything just to keep Joe here. Joe's nose flares. "What the fuck?" She crosses her arms across her arms. "Yeah, I said it. I can't be in a relationship with someone that puts everyone else first when it comes to me!" Joe's towering over her this time. "Them? You think I give a two flying fucks about those people? I'm here! I'm doing this for us, dammnit! What do you think will happen when someone finds out about you.. what will happen to me if I get caught?" He spits fire at her until she looks at him with more remorse now. She understands, slightly anyway. "They could take me away and.. God.." He breathes out harshly. "The world doesn't revolve around us, Demi. Obviously not." He says, his eyes snapping to her stomach. "Not anymore.." He mutters to himself and himself only as he looks away with tightly shut eyes. "I didn't mean it.." She whispers quietly and Joe knows she didn't. He can see she really was scared though and he's guilty for it. "I can't.." He couldn't look her in the eyes but he gulps it down and brings his hands to her face. "Maybe he was right. My dad always told me how weak and pathetic I was.. this just.. it proves that." At this point Demi didn't care about what was coming out of his mouth. All she knew was that he was leaving her. Joe carefully prys her hands off him. "You were the only one that took me as I am. You never ran me down because all you needed was Joe." His fingers instantly slip from her skin at the realization. The realization had the frustration flooding into his mind again. And Demi saw it as anger in his eyes. "Me, Demi. That's all I can ever be.. and now, now you want me to be.." He couldn't even utter the word. So when he walked out, he made it quick. He dashed passed his mother and brother, almost instantly hearing Demi telling Nick to go after him. That he'd never leave her because that's what he promised. But at the time, Joe knew he made it all about him. He didn't care about anything. But as he practically tripped into the elevator, he knew he failed her; the one person that's never fallen short, the one person that never failed him. He just couldn't be what she was asking him to be. "I told you.." Demi says quietly as Samantha took a seat in a chair while Demi sat on the bed. "He'd freak out.. I told you." She repeats it to herself. "He'll come back." She says in an attempt to comfort her. "What if he doesnt?" Her head snaps up, revealing her tear struck cheeks. "He's not coming home, he'll leave me." Joe's mother looked at her with great sympathy. "Why are you so afraid?" "Because Dr. Stewart, what do you do when you give your everything away and in a split second, it just walks away.. so easily like that?! I'm empty right now, literally nothing. Do you know what that is for me?" She hits her fists on the bed as the tears keep coming. "You don't understand. You people toy with things, take it for granted because you know that there will always be more. Dr. Stewart, I don't have that." She shakes her head as Samantha's eyes sulk even more, trying her hardest to comprehend Demi's pain. "Who do you go home to after the day is over? Hm, your family.. I don't even have that either. My mother is dead, my sisters hate me. This.." She gasps, holding her hands out around her and Joe's room. "Joe is my family. This is my home. This has been my life for almost the past two years!
