Deceive: i) to mislead by a false appearance or statement; delude. ii) to be unfaithful to. ------------------------------------------ "SHIT!" Nick Jonas yelled at the top his voice as his burnt sienna eyes fluttered open and observed the time on the clock. His commotion caused Rebecca, his wife, to sit up quickly as he hastily jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom. "What's the matter baby?" she asked, rubbing her eyes, trying to keep them open. She hadn't got much sleep and was now beginning to regret that. She glanced over at the clock on the nightstand; 7:24. Nick walked back into the bedroom he shared with Rebecca, slipping his arms into a white button down shirt. "I'm supposed to be at work at 7:30." Rebecca bit down on her voluminous pink bottom lip. She couldn't help but stare at his chiseled body as he buttoned up his shirt. Guilt was starting to set in on her lower stomach. She felt it was her fault he had slept in. He noticed her staring but didn't make any comment and ran to fetch some pants in the closet they shared, instead. When he walked out a minute later, he was fully dressed. He had a quick glimpse at himself in the mirror on their dressing table and decided he was decent. He looked over at his wife, smiling because she was already slipping into unconsciousness. "Bye becs. I love you." He placed a loving kiss on her forehead. "See you later babe." And with that he jogged out into the living area of their small but perfect apartment. His wide eyes were scanning the room for his phone and car keys. His stomach rumbled as his eyes landed on their kitchen, but he resisted, knowing he had no time. "Babe did you see my car keys?!" he called out, not having any success. "Yeah, they're on the table, where you left them!" her voice was tired, but still loud enough for him to hear. He spun around and spotted his keys and phone on the dining table. He promptly made his way over to the table, grabbing them. "Thanks babe!" He moved towards the door, checking his Blackberry for any new messages. On discovering there was none, he jumped swiftly down the stairs, two steps at a time. He didn't meet anyone on his descent down the three flights of stairs and was grateful; he didn't have time to talk. He texted in his order to the Starbucks near his office building. Over the past two years he had been working for the company, he had become quite close to the guy behind the counter. The poor guy was there every single morning during the morning rush. Nick, not being the punctual type, had acquired the guys number so they could have his coffee ready by the time he got there. Nick got a coffee drink there almost every morning; he felt he needed it before he could face into work. Once he caught sight of the street, he changed his mind about taking his car. Traffic was really heavy, and at this stage, he decided it would be quicker to walk. Or run. Trying not to look like an idiot, Nick jogged down the street, dodging the few people who, like himself, had chosen the healthier option.
